Tristram Miravalles

Tristram Miravalles is a multi-disciplinary artist whose collection of oil paintings deviate from the often-pleasant imagery of his hometown- Negros Occidental. He has been active in contemporary Philippine art; recently incorporating up-cycling and recycling with his mechanical and sculptural installations.

The artist’s works are reactionary and introspective in nature- with exhibitions that have been unforgivingly directing the spotlight on the perverted and the mad. He consistently tackles mankind’s repeating duel with its demons and futile desire for salvation through power, religion and greed.

Miravalles is an active member of Project Space Pilipinas. He was part of PSP’s first line of artists under NEAR (Neo-emerging Artist Residency) in 2011, and has been featured under SALANG Volume 2 in 2018. His recent solo exhibits include “Surviving the Burning Fields” at Ayala Museum last 2016 and “As We Sleep” in Art Fair Philippines 2018.

The artist attended residencies abroad initiated by SAGE (Southeast Asia Artist Group Exchange Residency) in 2013. This paved way for his multiple collaborations with artist communities in Jogjakarta, Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His most recent residency grant was held in IILM School of Design, New Delhi India.
