Art has a long history of bringing people together and creating a connection amongst diverse individuals. The integration of art has not only enriched people’s lives but it continues to foster communities. At first glance, the influence of art has always been subtle bur prevalent. In its simplest form, art has always been present everywhere in the community, even in the littlest of things that oftentimes people miss to fully grasp. But if we look at the bigger perspective of things, art binds the community together and brings ripples of positive changes in the community.

Nunelucio Alvarado, 71 years of age, is a native of Sagay City, Negros Occidental. One of the most influential artists and a pioneer in the art movement in Negros. He is a multi-awarded artist and has received several accolades, being hailed as one of the Black Artists of Asia and receiving 13 Artist Award in Cultural Center of the Philippines, Manila.

He has strongly influenced the community, particularly the younger generation, through his art and his works have sparked an environment movement in Old Sagay. At present, he continues and expands his advocacy and supports young artists with the help of his family, the art community, and the government and making everyone realize that art is not exclusively for the professionals and for those who could afford high-level education.

This is a film about life, dreams and art. It invites you to enter into the universe of the renowned Nunelucio Alvarado whol always does things with substance and love.
